Born in Istanbul to a musical family, composer Eda Yenal made her first public performance at the age of 5 on the nationally-broadcast Turkish variety show, "From age 7 to 77 with Barış Manço," where she sang a phonetic "English" version of "All to Sleep" from Sleeping Beauty.

She began her classical piano studies at age 6 and was composing her first pieces by age 7. After realizing she was not yet up to Beethoven's level, she threw up her hands and vowed never to compose again - a promise she failed to keep.

After graduating from Istanbul University State Conservatory with a degree in Piano Performance, Eda moved to Los Angeles in 2012 to further her composition studies at UCLA Extension in the Film-Scoring Program.

A composer with a definite point of view, Eda's music is both quirky and timeless - at home in any indie film or BBC drama.

In addition to performing and composing, Eda has been teaching piano since 2004.

No longer relying on phonetics, Eda is fluent in both English and Turkish.
